SUMMARY:Dementia & Brain Health in Women – Barriers and Opportunities
DESCRIPTION:Nina Carberry (Member of the European Parliament, MEP) and the Dementia Research Network Ireland will explore key issues surrounding dementia and brain health for women at the European Parliament in Brussels, Belgium, on Tuesday, 9 December 2025, at 12:30. Partners from AI-Mind (Rossella Di Bidino from Policlinico Gemelli) will join to find out more about dementia and brain health in women.\nNina Carberry, who serves as Co-Chair of the European Alzheimer’s Alliance (Network of MEPs supporting Alzheimer Europe’s campaign to make dementia a European priority), is a passionate advocate for dementia research and support in the European context. Women are at higher risk of developing dementia than men, yet research has only just begun to address the biological and social factors behind this disparity. This session will provide scientific insights, survey data, and strategies for managing brain health, while identifying critical gaps and opportunities for action.\nRegister now to attend in-person or online!\n
